  • What is MTA?

    Multisensory Teaching Approach using the principals of the Orton-Gillingham teaching approach. Five consecutive days of virtual training with the MTA materials from Kit 1. . Four follow-up days of training to include instruction of MTA Kits 2 through 5.

    The complete 9-day training fully matches the TEA teacher instruction requirements.

  • Who may attend MTA training?

    Participants must be a certified teacher interested in working with struggling readers. It is the local education agency to determine if this person must also be special education certified.

    Participants who are teaching children using the MTA program while attending classes benefit the most. It is a hands-on experience.

  • What is required?

    A fee of $1,200 will cover the cost of the 9-instructional classes. The MTA kits and other materials are not included in the expense. Participants must be able to physically manipulate the materials during the training. A specific material list will be provided to participants. Any missed classes must be made up to earn the certificate of completion.

  • MTA Materials

    Materials must be available to the participant before the class begins. Materials will be used during the class. www.mtspublications.com is the website of which MTA Kits may be ordered. Participants will need to have access to MTA Kits 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 for the full training.

    Classes may be held on at a district facility. On-line options are available but face-to-face training seems to be the most effective for this hands-on teaching approach.
